Delivery

How quickly will I get my delivery? Delivery times vary depending on the season and how busy we are. We always do our best to get deliveries out in a timely manner. During the regular season, we can deliver within 1-2 days. During peak season deliveries can be expected to arrive in approximately 2-4 days.
What time of day will my delivery show up on the selected day? Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the time of our deliveries. Our deliveries start at 7 am and can arrive as late as 7 pm. If you would like to inquire about the time your delivery might arrive, give us a call on the day of your delivery for a rough estimate.
Will I be notified before delivery? A store employee will notify you by email or phone before the delivery goes out. If we do not receive an answer from the homeowner but have all the required delivery information, we will proceed with the order. If we do not have all the delivery information, the delivery may be postponed to later in the day or until the client calls us back.
Do I have to be home to receive my delivery? You do not need to be home for us to complete the delivery. We ask that you leave your driveway clear for the delivery truck. If the driver is unable to complete the delivery (e.g., a car is in the way, a gate is locked, etc.), an additional delivery fee may be charged to re-deliver the order. We recommend that you provide a phone number for us to contact you if there are any concerns.

If you would like the materials delivered to a specific spot, please leave an X on the driveway with tape or chalk or place a cone where you would like the material dropped off. The drivers will do their best to accommodate the delivery location. If the driver is not able to get it exactly on the mark, they will get it as close to the desired location as possible.
Can the driver go onto my grass? It is possible in certain circumstances, and the driver will have the final say on whether it is safe. If it has rained a lot or the lawn is damp, it will likely be impossible to go onto the grass; if it has been dry out and the ground is hard, it may be possible. In any case, if requested to go off the driveway, there is a likelihood the truck will leave marks on the grass and potentially ruts, this is not something that Van Beek's can accept liability for. Please see the delivery liability section for liability past the curb.
How many products can you deliver at one time? For bulk deliveries, we can deliver two bulk products at one time. In the cab of the same truck, we can bring grass seed and some tools if needed for no extra charge. We can bring up to 14 skids on one delivery for skidded and bag products. Upon checking out of the shopping cart, the delivery charge will be calculated for you and will change depending on what's in the cart.
What will one yard of soil and mulch look like on my driveway?1 yard = 5-6 wheelbarrow loads. One yard of soil and mulch, a typical amount delivered for a detached house, will take up about a car spot on your driveway.
Should I move my cars off the driveway? We highly recommend removing the vehicles from the driveway for delivery safety and to avoid being blocked.
Can we deliver into a backyard or a tight space? This will depend on a wide variety of factors. We try our best to deliver our products to the most convenient location possible, but our trucks cannot reach certain locations. Please remember that the truck needs to dump the product, overhead wires, eavestrough, basketball net, and overhanging trees, which may limit our ability to dump in these areas. The driver has the final say if delivering the product to the requested area is safe to do so.

Please call our store at (905) 842-5053 with any questions, and our associates can explore your delivery options. You may consider the cubic yard bag delivery option as the moffit forklift can usually access tighter areas.

Skid Fees

What is a “Skid - Refundable Deposit”? If you see an item in your cart or on your order summary that says “Skid—Refundable Deposit,” it means you have ordered products that will be delivered on wooden skids (also known as pallets).

The fee on your order will be refunded if you return your wooden skids to Van Beek’s in good condition. Please note that skids that are broken or rotted will not be eligible for a refund.
Why am I being charged for a skid? All products at Van Beek’s which are delivered by flatbed trucks require wooden skids (also known as pallets) to ensure the efficiency, safety, and organization of handling and transporting our products.

If you are charged a “Skid—Refundable Deposit,” it means you have ordered products that will be delivered on wooden skids. This fee will be refunded if you bring your wooden skids back to Van Beek’s in good condition. Please note that skids that are broken or rotted will not be eligible for a refund.
How do I get a refund for my skids? To get a refund for the wooded skids used for your delivery, bring them back to Van Beek’s in good condition. We ask that you please bring a copy of your order summary or receipt.

Please note that skids that are broken or rotted will not be eligible for a refund.
Why am being charged for a skid when I shouldn’t be? Customers can be charged a refundable skid deposit on orders containing products delivered on wooded skids (also known as pallets). Items will be delivered this way based on multiple factors including the product type, and the quantity.

If you believe that you have been charged a skid fee when you shouldn’t have been, feel free to contact our store at (905) 842-5053 with your order number, and we will be happy to resolve the issue with you!
There is a skid fee in my shopping cart that I cannot remove. Have you removed all the items in your cart, but there is still a “Skid - Refundable Deposit” item that cannot be removed?

Returns

I changed my mind about my order can I return the products? Due to the nature of our business, many products are not eligible to be returned. Products may only be accepted back if they meet the following conditions:
  • The product is in the original packaging not opened or used
  • The product is clean
  • The product is not damaged
  • The product is not scratched
  • The product is not wet, damp, or appears to have been wet
Please consult our Return Policy to see if your products are eligible for return.
Can I return my concrete product or natural stone products? Products such as interlocking brick, concrete products, tools, and bagged items require a 25% restocking fee upon return. Natural stone products cannot be returned.

Interlocking and wall products sold in layers or patterns can only be returned in full layers or bundles and must not be damaged or scratched. For more information see our Return Policy.
Can I return my grass sod? Unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns on grass sod. This policy is in place for a few important reasons:
  1. Perishable Nature: Grass sod is a perishable item that begins to degrade shortly after it is harvested. To ensure the highest quality and freshness, it needs to be installed and watered as soon as possible. Once it leaves our facility, we cannot guarantee its condition.
  2. Soil and Contamination Risks: Returning sod can introduce soil and contamination risks, which could potentially affect our other products and customers.
For more information see our Return Policy.
Can I get a refund or exchange for the bulk products? Products sold in bulk quantities, such as soil, sand, gravel, local stone, grass seed or mulch, are not eligible for a refund or exchange. Due to the nature of how these products are delivered, they cannot be returned and reused at the store, making them final sale.

For more information see our Return Policy.
