Rompox D1 - Additional Infomation
Application Instructions:
- Blend Components: Start by adding the 55 lbs filler material to your mixer. Gradually introduce the ROMPOX® D1 components while maintaining a consistent blend. A professional agitator, rotary-drum mixer, or compulsory mixer is advised.
- Water Integration: Initially, fill both component bottles with 0.5 litres of water, seal, and shake thoroughly. Add this to your mix and stir for 3 minutes. Then, integrate an additional 3 litres | 0.8 gal of water and continue mixing for 3 more minutes. Aim for a total mixing duration of at least 6 minutes.
- Surface Pre-Wetting: Drench your surface adequately. Porous surfaces or those with higher temperatures may demand more intensive wetting.
- Mortar Distribution: Disperse the blended jointing mortar onto the damp surface, spreading across three or four areas to amplify flow. Utilize a squeegee or rubber slider to push the mortar deep into the joints, filling them entirely.
- Surface Cleanup: Wait for around 10 minutes, then gently sweep away any excess mortar from the stone surface using a coarse broom. It's time to sweep when no white streaks are left on the stones.
- Final Touch-Up: \ Using a soft-bristle broom, polish the area until every trace of the residual mortar vanishes, ensuring sweeping is done at an angle to the joints. Refrain from reusing the cleared material.
